HISTORY
The Academic Sexual Correctness (ASC) web site was established in 1996.
It evolved from the ASC bulletin board created by Barry Dank, a sociologist at
California State University, Long Beach, in 1994. Literature is updated
often and is also available by subscribing to the
ASC list.
PURPOSE
The purpose of this web site is to serve as a forum for the discussion
and sharing of information regarding all aspects of university sexual
control issues: speech, censorship, harassment, student-professor
fraternization, etc. All academics and former academics (students,
professors, staff) are welcome to participate. The ultimate goal of
this web site is to foster a campus climate that prevents institutional
authority from regulating sexual matters simply because they are sexual
or held to give sexual offense.
