Alex Morales – Board of Trustees
With a total of twenty-four years of public service as a Board of Trustees member in the Whittier area, Alex Morales is currently serving in his tenth year as a member of the Whittier Union High School District Board of Trustees. Mr. Morales a public school educator currently resides in the City of Whittier.
Mr. Morales is the Director for the School Improvement Initiative at the Center for Language Minority Education and Research at California State University Long Beach. There he uses his 20 years' of experience as a classroom teacher, lecturer, principal, board of education member and district administrator to assist schools in improving the educational programs and opportunities for all students. Mr. Morales also is a member of the Latino School Board Association of California, past State President of the Association of Mexican-American Educators, Inc. and a member of the Progressive United Action Association, Inc.
Mr. Morales attended Cerritos College, then California State University, Fullerton where he received his B.A. degree in History and his California State Teaching Credential. Mr. Morales also attended and graduated from the University of La Verne where he earned his M.A. degree in school administration.
Mr. Morales' latest humanitarian project is a joint effort between the many educators, students and friends to help the children and people of Cambodia through a series of projects that include educational programs, family assistance programs, and the current project to build several schools in Cambodia.
