Grading Criteria
 
Introduction/Background (10%)
Is your question clear and appropriate for SCED 401? 
Is there a clear rationale for the study?
Do you convincingly discuss how the study will address your question(s)? 
Procedures (35%)
Clarity - can I easily understand what you did? 
 How adequately and thoroughly does your procedure address your question(s)?
 Do you control for variables (as appropriate)? 
Are procedures repeated (as appropriate) to generate sufficient data?
Reporting data: tables/charts & descriptions (10%)
Is the data is summarized in a table/chart that's easy to read and understand in a glance? 
Do you summarize your data--clearly and briefly? Did you avoid repeating the same information that is in the table?
Analysis & Conclusions - your interpretations of the results (30%)
Do you interpret your results, helping readers understand what the results mean? Is interpretation/analysis supported by your data? 
Do you evaluate your study in light of the information you learned about in class  regarding study aspects like sample size, variable control, and unintentional bias?
Are the connections clear between your current data and the question to investigate in the new study?
Do you adequately discuss how your study could continue, testing explanations or generalizations? Could you realistically do the (new) study?
Other Aspects of your Study (10%)
Formatting & length OK (~6 pages)?
Punctuation, grammar, spelling, and mechanics are appropriate?
Sentence form and word choice are varied and appropriate?
