Turnitin
Turnitin is a plagiarism prevention and detection service that
CSULB faculty can use to ensure that their students meet the university's
standards of academic integrity. The university policy on cheating
and plagiarism is found from pages 87-89 of the 2002-2003 Undergraduate
and Graduate Catalog.
Turnitin compares a student's work to a gigantic database of previously submitted work and web pages, and provides instructors with an easy-to-read originality report indicating possible instances of plagiarism. You can see an example of a turnitin report HERE
How do I use Turnitin?
For Faculty: Because issues of academic integrity are sensitive
ones, it is important that faculty be well trained in the use of
Turnitin. Therefore, we are requiring faculty to attend an in-person
training session before using Turnitin. To see the available times
for Turnitin workshops and register to attend, visit the Instructional
Technology calendar.
In addition, you can schedule a one-on-one training session, or
visit us during our office
hours.
To download a Word document you can modify and use as a handout
for your students (containing directions on getting an account and
submitting assignments), click

For Students: If you are enrolled in a class that uses
Turnitin, your instructor will provide you with details on the use
of Turnitin. |
