ITG Mission
The ACS Instructional
Technology group's mission is to be central point of consistent
support for faculty searching to incorporate technology into their
teaching. This is accomplished through patient and competent one-on-one
consulting, well-structured and organized workshops, robust websites
and handouts, and through the administration of the instructional
technologies adopted. Our group is ultimately responsible for the
deployment and implementation of BeachBoard, the CSULB's e-learning
environment, and collaboration with other ACS & outside organizations
to provide a campus-wide effort in promoting and supporting BeachBoard.
Goals:
- Provide competent one-on-one consulting to faculty through walk-ins
and appointments in Inspired InSite, the Faculty Learning Center,
to assist with various technology projects.
- Provide well-structured and organized technology workshop experiences
for faculty by properly scheduling the workshops, promoting the
workshops, teaching the workshops, and maintaining Inspired InSite
for such workshops with a professional attention to detail.
- Provide robust websites and handouts to faculty that cover our
offered technology workshops subjects, supported software programs
(i.e. BeachBoard), and pedagogical issues encountered when using
technology.
- Successfully complete the administration of instructional technologies;
including the maintenance of specified supported software to be
used with instruction, the evaluation of new software to be used
in instruction, and more specific XanEdu, TurnItIn and BeachBoard
course administrative chores.
- Deployment and implementation of BeachBoard through collaboration
with ACS and other organizations to provide support for faculty
multimedia projects, pedagogical issues, campus organizations
on BeachBoard, and BeachBoard student support, among other things.
