Established in 1999, The
Instructional Technology Group, is one of five divisions of Academic
Computing Services (ACS). The other groups include the Technology
Help Desk, Open Access Computer Labs, Development Lab/Faculty Services,
and the Server Administration group. The original mandate was to
instruct faculty in order to increase their use and skills with
technology in their course offerings. Inspired
InSite, the "Faculty Learning Center" was created for the purpose
of teaching in a workshop environment and a place of learning for
those interested in personal instruction.
As differing technologies
and software became the responsibility of the group, the group's
mandate has expanded and positions were filled with competent members
holding a wide ranging array of skills. The focus remains to enable
faculty in understanding and utilizing technology in their course
offerings.
