Licenses and Agreements
Campus software licenses and agreements increase the availability
of popular software titles by reducing the overall cost of ownership.
ACS contracts numerous campus-wide software licenses and agreements
in cooperation with our CSULB Purchasing Department, the Forty-Niner
Shops Computer Store and the CSU Chancellor's Office. Several
of these products are directly distributed by ACS (under specific
terms and conditions for site-licensed software) while other products
are obtained through departmental purchase orders or individual
over-the-counter purchases.
ACS distributes site-licensed software at the Steve and Nini Horn
Center Walk-in Service Desk. Faculty and staff members are granted
permission to use these software products as employees of the
university. The currently available software titles are listed
below as well as the required number of CD-R's to exchange.
Please call (562) 985-4505 for availability and note that the
CD-R exchange requires (thick or thin) jewel cases. When product
media is only available upon request, please allow five working
days for your order to be processed.
Adobe
Contractural Licensing Program (CLP)
CSULB is participating in the Adobe Contractual Licensing Program.
The current licensing period is from April 1, 2003 to April 30,
2005. CSULB purchases must equal 1,000 points over this time period.
The program is administered through the campus bookstore. Go to
the campus bookstore website at http://shopthebeach.com
and visit the online computer store's Campus-wide Departmental
Purchases site.
Adobe Open Options Education
CLPprovides a flexible volume license program that simplifies
software administration through a single licensing agreement for
a set period of time. Through CLP, we can save up to approximately
65% off individual product pricing. You can mix and match products
to reach the 1,000 point minimum. Maintenance is also an option
under CLP keeping your software investment current by providing
upgrades under the same license for a set period of time.
The benefits of the
Adobe Open Options CLP include:
- Save even more through a two-year volume discount agreement
- Mix and match Adobe products in your orders
- Receive discounted pricing on all orders – even for
quantities as few as one license
- Spread your license fees over the duration of your agreement

Apple Mac OS Licensing Programs
Technology
Assurance Program (TAP): 2001-2004
TAP was a limited Mac
OS X licensing program for the period 2001-2004. It discounted
the cost of Mac OS X licensing to the educational community. Our
campus currently has 354 Macintosh OS X licenses under this program.
The cost for the first year was $36/CPU ($24 for upgrade and $12
for maintenance). The cost for the second and third year was $12/CPU.
So, users received OS X upgrades for the past three years for
$60, However, TAP did not include ownership. At the end of the
three year term, users have the option to buy out the most current
version for an additional $20/CPU. Other options include removing
the OS or joining the new three-year AMP program.
Apple
Maintenance Program (AMP): 2004-2007
AMP will replace the Mac OS TAP. The program term will be 2004-2007.
Unlike TAP, users will own the most current Mac OS version at
the end of the term. For current TAP participants, the cost of
this program will be $60 or $20/year for three-years. There will
be a buy-in fee for new participants, but the price has yet to
be determined.

Edition for Desktops
This software program is licensed from March 29, 2002 to March
28, 2005. Campus installations of these products can be performed
by the division and/or college technical support staff. Faculty

Macromedia Licensing Program
The
Chancellor's Office has secured educational pricing for Macromedia
products. The agreement term is from March 29, 2004 to March 28,
2006. The product prices shown below are for new
purchases only with ownership and includes term
maintenance. Note that the overhead cost is ten percent of the
product price, but verhead is not taxed.

. You will need a campus purchase order number or campus account
number when the order is submitted. The submission will log the
purchase and send an automated email to the approver. Once the
approver responds with th eapproval, the installation code is
forwarded to the requestor. As the installation code is forwarded
to the requestor, an invoice will be automatically sent to th
ecampus. The invoice will refer to the campus PO number or campus
account number.

Microsoft
Campus Agreement
This software program is licensed from January 1, 2003 to December
31, 2005. It is a system-wide license negotiated at the Chancellor's
Office. Visit http://msadmin.calstate.edu to learn more about
this program. Campus installations of these products are performed
by the division and/or college technical support staff. Home use
is only available through the purchase of media at the 49er Shops
Bookstore Computer Center (562) 985-7946.

Statistical
Software Licenses
This software is licensed from July 1 to June 30th of each year.
SAS and SPSS programs are system-wide licenses negotiated at the
Chancellor's Office with campus contributions. CSULB maintains
a separate Minitab license. Campus installations of these products
can be performed by the division and/or college technical support
staff. Faculty and staff can pick-up this media at the Horn Center
THD Walk-in Service Desk for home use (562) 985-4505. SPSS and
SAS licenses include unlimited faculty and staff installations,
while Minitab is licensed for 200 concurrent launches. Students
can use SAS for Windows 8.2 by checking out copies at the University
Library Reserve Desk.
