"Founders Day is designed to be interesting and stimulating for
each of the different groups in the audience," says Michael Blazey,
who serves as coordinator for the 18-month-long celebration. "We've
had to tailor Founders Day in such a way it would appeal to all of those
groups."
If it's sounds a little secretive, well, that's on purpose. "We
want to get people to come to the event," says Blazey of the two-hour
program, "but by the same token we want them to be pleasantly surprised
when they get there. In a way it's the unwrapping of the university's
50th birthday present."
