The research that I am involved in
focuses on expression of matrix
metalloproteinases (MMPs) in California
Sheephead (Semicossyphus pulcher).
It is believed that MMPs play a role in
the cleavage of extracellular matrix
during the transition of S. pulcher
from female to male.
