Information for prospective GRADUATE STUDENTS
|
We place special emphasis on the training of our graduate
students. We believe that graduate students can build solid scientific
foundations in the Behavior & Conservation Lab, which will allow them to
increase the chances of getting into a Ph.D. program or finding a job.
If you join the lab, you will increase your knowledge of statistics and experimental design, you will work in a friendly environment that promotes collaboration among lab members, you will learn how to write grant proposals to get funds to conduct your research, and you will produce scientific publications in order to communicate the results of your hard work to the scientific community. We look for students with two main qualities: enthusiasm and responsibility. These qualities will help you become involved enough in your work to ensure the successful completion of your degree. You are welcome to conduct research within the main research areas of our lab or to propose an idea in the areas of animal behavior, visual ecology, wildlife management, and conservation biology (see examples of current projects). We are flexible as to the topics our graduate students are involved in. So, feel free to contact us by e-mail, phone or stop by the Behavior & Conservation Lab. |
