Behavior & Conservation Lab

California State University Long Beach

We are interested in answering questions related to animal behavior, visual ecology, wildlife management, and conservation biology. We use different model species, primarily birds, but also mammals, insects, amphibians, and fish. We follow various methodological approaches that include lab and field work, semi-natural experiments, and modeling. This diversity of study systems and methodologies creates a rich intellectual environment in which students can interchange and discuss ideas from different perspectives and ultimately enhance their education.
