Search (Item not on the shelf)

If an item is listed in OneSearch as "Available at University Library" but cannot be located in the stacks, visit the front Circulation Desk to request a search. You must supply the call number, author, and title of the book.  If they are also unable to find it, the item will be marked Missing in OneSearch, and CSULB students, faculty, and staff will then be able to request it through either CSU+, LINK+ (books only) or BeachReach (books and media).

Options for getting your item (once the item is determined to be missing) include:

  • Borrow the item through CSU+
    • Locate the book in OneSearch, click Request from CSU+ and follow the instructions.
    • You can view the status of your CSU+ requests by signing into OneSearch.

  • Borrow the item through LINK+. (Currently Unavailable)
    • Locate the book in OneSearch, click Request from Link+, and follow the instructions.
    • You can view the status of your LINK+ requests by signing into OneSearch.

If the item you need is not available through CSU+ or LINK+, please use BeachReach to make your request. You can view the status of your requests when logged in to BeachReach.

If you have questions about borrowing materials, recalls, search and holds, or library fines or fees, please call (562) 985-5512.
