Support Our Scholars

President’s Scholarships are funded through philanthropic gifts made by individuals and organizations. Since the first President’s Scholarship was awarded back in 1995, donors have invested over $13.6 million in our President’s Scholars. Thanks to the generosity of our forward-looking donors, more than 1,100 President’s Scholars have graduated and gone on to make important contributions to a wide variety of fields - from anesthesiology to finance to veterinary medicine - and to create positive change in their communities. To ensure that future generations of highly accomplished students have the opportunity to participate in this transformative educational experience, please consider supporting our President’s Scholars.

President’s Associates

The President’s Associates is the premier support group for the President’s Scholarships. Members include individuals, as well as corporations and foundations. These philanthropic partners receive special communiqués from the university and are invited to exclusive events where they have the opportunity to interact directly with President’s Scholars. Leadership levels are as follows:

Planned Gifts

Planned or “deferred” giving is a viable option for donors who wish to utilize tax-advantaged giving techniques to support students at CSULB while potentially increasing income and reducing taxes. These include life income gifts that pay you and/or other designated beneficiaries an income for life such as charitable gift annuities and charitable remainder trusts; gifts of real estate, including life estates; gifts through wills and living trusts; and more. The CSULB Office of Gift Planning is available to provide guidance in charitable gift planning that may help you make important decisions about your future.

Endowed Gifts

A gift of $100,000 to endow and name a President’s Scholar at CSULB will permanently link your name to the university’s signature scholarship initiative and to the academic and professional accomplishments of some of CSULB’s most distinguished students and alumni. Furthermore, this visionary gift will furnish crucial support that bridges gaps in funding, provides our state’s best and brightest - the thought-leaders of tomorrow - with life-changing educational experiences, and secures the financial future of a program that has played a central role in helping make California State University, Long Beach a vibrant university of choice.
