Mission

Mission Statement

The University Center for Undergraduate Advising (UCUA) strives to empower undergraduate students to explore, identify, and declare a major with confidence.

How UCUA Supports Its Mission

UCUA provides comprehensive academic advising, policy clarification, referrals to campus resources, and training on academic and degree planning tools. UCUA academic advisors strive to ensure the success of advisees by equipping them with the knowledge needed to declare a major in a timely manner and progress towards graduation.

UCUA supports the Division of Academic Affairs and Division of Student Affairs through campus-wide training, policy implementation, and facilitation of change via targeted initiatives and programming. UCUA organizes and conducts ongoing assessment of advising practices with the goal of improving academic advising across the University.

Vision Statement

Through establishing a partnership between the student and professional academic advisor, UCUA envisions that all students will be engaged in academic success through self-advocacy.
