The centerpiece of the Bob Cole Conservatory of Music, the $2.5 million Pavilion and Plaza, was dedicated in October. The late Bob Cole’s wife, Regena Cole, welcomed conservatory students as well as members of the university and the community, to remember her husband’s legacy, his love for music and his support of music students. The Pavilion will serve as the Conservatory’s hub and displays several of Cole’s personal belongings, including his Steinway piano and desk. The Plaza offers an outdoor performance area. With the inclusion of the Bob Cole Conservatory Pavilion and Plaza, the CSULB campus now has an “artistic village” encompassing the Conservatory, the Richard and Karen Carpenter Performing Arts Center and the Martha Knoebel Dance Theatre.
