Louise Ukleja

Louise Ukleja is a longtime friend of CSULB and has a passion for creating public awareness of the needs of students with learning challenges. It was this passion that led her to found Opportunity Schools in 1990. She presently serves as executive director of Opportunity Schools, an educational non-profit that provides programming, consulting and professional development to private schools enabling them to help students with learning challenges achieve academic success.

A graduate of Ohio University, Louise earned a degree in Business Administration. She is a Winston School trustee, contributing toward securing a permanent home for the private campus in Del Mar. Additionally, Louise received the Hero Award from the Winston School for outstanding service to students with learning challenges.

A supporter of CSULB’s athletics program, College of Business Administration, Disabled Student Services, and President’s Scholars Program, Ukleja’s generosity has been instrumental in creating the Ukleja Center for Ethical Leadership in the College of Business Administration and the Ukleja Family Hall of Honor in the Walter Pyramid. She is a member of the Carillon Society and a recipient of CSULB’s Carillon Award, an honor reserved for donors who have made transformational gifts of $1 million or more to the campus. In 2001, she received the President’s Distinguished Service Award. Her contributions to the campus are beyond measure.
