Chief Executive Officer Andrea Taylor

Thank you for visiting the website for the CSULB 49er Foundation.  Here you will find helpful information about the foundation and, even more important, about the educational activities it was created to support.

Gifts of all types and amounts are needed if California State University, Long Beach is to fulfill its extraordinary potential.  Whether it’s a few extra dollars at the end of the month or a bequest that’s taken a lifetime to build, every contribution to CSULB makes a difference.

As you probably know, philanthropy plays an essential role at CSULB.  You will hear more and more about the importance of philanthropic funding as we near the public launch of our first-ever comprehensive campaign.  On that note, I am excited to tell you that we’ve raised more than $170 million to date toward our total campaign goal.  This is an achievement we can all be very proud of.  And while our goals are within reach, we’ll need everyone’s help to get to the finish line.  In many ways, our work is only just beginning.

Endowments, legacies, campaigns — it can all sound a bit abstract, I know.  If you’ve ever wondered what inspires large gifts and pledges, or what those gifts really mean to our students and faculty, please be sure to read the story of Jean Houck’s bequest to the College of Education.  Jean and her husband, Jack, discovered that their contributions to CSULB not only created positive change on our campus and in our communities, but they also provided the Houcks with a way to achieve their own philanthropic and financial goals.  In other words, it really is possible to give and receive at the same time.

Thank you again for visiting our site.  Your support and interest are deeply appreciated by the entire CSULB family.  I look forward to hearing from you and to working together to ensure a bright future for “The Beach.”
