The Teachers College Record has released a video of Dr. Jessica Zacher Pandya, professor and chair of the Liberal Studies department, discussing her research on transnational children. Dr. Zacher Pandya completed a multi-year study with the support of several students who were formerly Liberal Studies majors.
Six School Counseling master’s students will be presenting at the Evidence-Based School Counseling Conference March 10th and 11th, 2017 in San Diego. Brian Ponce, Cesar Rodriguez, Janet Cardoso-Maresh, Vanessa Hernandez, Rachael Hamlet, and Carlos Campos will be presenting the results of their Participatory Action Research projects, completed under the direction of Dr.
Dr. William Jeynes, a professor in the Teacher Education department, had the opportunity to speak to the Obama administration in late September on the need to reduce the achievement gap and increase parental involvement. The event was held at the U.S. Department of Education. It was Dr. Jeynes’ 6th time speaking to members of the Obama administration, and he has previously been invited to speak by the G.W. Bush administration as well.
Two College of Education graduate students and one faculty member were honored at the annual Project Hispanic Opportunities for Graduate Access and Retention (HOGAR) awards reception on November 30th.
