Conclusions and Directions for the Educational Effectiveness Report, Core Commitment II

The Staffing for Effectiveness Committee has initiated the data mining process and gained a clearer sense of the adequacy of our assessment data in relation to staff and faculty recruitment and retention. A careful examination of the data has helped us to determine that CSULB is doing well relative to similar institutions. It has also allowed us to recognize areas that require improvement.

For the Educational Effectiveness Review we plan to research these questions:

  1. Based on the evidence gathered in the Capacity and Preparatory Review, how can we be more effective in recruiting, retaining and supporting a highly qualified and diverse faculty who are committed to the institutional goals of student learning?
  2. Based on the evidence gathered in the Capacity and Preparatory Review, how can we be more effective in recruiting, retaining and supporting a highly qualified and diverse staff who are committed to the institutional goals of student learning?

Through employing additional measurements in the Educational Effectiveness phase of our inquiry, we will be able to assess our current activities and to make definitive recommendations that should, over time, result in an even more appealing workplace for our employee community.
