If you select books from the library, both the book's editor and a librarian have evaluated the book.

To evaluate a book, look through the table of contents and read the introduction. Ask yourself the follow questions:

1. Is there background information about the author?
2. Is the author an expert in the field?

1. Why was the book/chapter written? To inform,persuade, entertain or present research?
2. Is there more than one point of view?

1. Who published the book? Is it a University Press?
2. When was it published? Is it still current?
