The work for this project consists of the abatement and demolition of the entire existing Peterson Hall #3 Building and the construction of a new replacement facility of approximately 96,000 ASF (Assignable Square Feet) and 160,000 GSF (Gross Square Feet). The new building will include laboratories, lecture rooms and faculty offices.
The project started in February 2008 and has an expected completion date of Spring 2011.
The existing structure is “cast-in-place” concrete and ductile frame does not meet today’s structural requirements or CSU classroom building standards. In addition, The utility services to this facility have not kept up with the current instructional requirements.
The floor to floor heights are too low to retrofit.
