Educating all of California's young people to high standards for a successful future is both a top priority and an enormous challenge. Partnerships between public schools, higher educational institution, business, and community organizations are an important part of an effective statewide strategy for raising student success. Forging effective partnerships is vitally important but, at the same time, it is challenging work fraught with pitfalls. Successful partnerships develop a delicate balance of strategies that maintain a sharp focus on student achievement while fostering enthusiasm and support for the hard work of reform.
