DIRECTIONS FOR USING THE DATABASE BROWSER

When you click the DATABASE link, you go to a screen with two choices: California Child Welfare Resource Library Holdings or CSULB MSW Theses. Make a selection.

If you select: CALIFORNIA CHILD WELFARE RESOURCE LIBRARY

you will see a new screen with five boxes. Fill in at least one box to locate the reference materials you need. Select Any Word to locate references with that word or phrase in the title or abstract. Select Title and/or Author if you have that information. Select Keyword to search by subject. To use this search, you must use a keyword from the Library's list. Select Record Type if you know what type of resource you want (e.g., videotape, book). You may find the browse buttons with drop-down menus to be helpful, particularly if you aren't sure of the correct spelling of an author's name.

When you find something you'd like to borrow, click the link to put it into your cart. When you are ready to place your order, you can cut and paste your cart into an email to the Library. Your order will be filled and sent to your liaison who will alert you when it arrives.

If you select CSULB MSW THESES

you get a slightly different screen; there is no Record Type option as all the items are theses.

Now that you're ready, to reach the searchable database of over 3,400 child welfare resource materials and over 1,000 CSULB MSW theses, click on DATABASE
