Academic Enrichment Camp

What a better way to have your son and/or daughter spend Summer vacation. The morning will be filled with fun math, computer, language arts and art activities, and the afternoon can be spent at the 49er Youth Fitness Camp (separate application process).

8:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Price

$490.00 per session/child.

Ages

Kindergarten - 8th Grade

  • Campers provide their own lunch and snack (for those attending 49er camp).
  • Lunch supervision for those attending 49er Camp is from 12:00-12:30 p.m.
  • Separate application process 49er Youth Fitness Camp. The staff can be reached at (562) 985-4049.

Purpose

The purpose of the Academic Enrichment Camp is to provide each child with a relaxed and exciting learning environment in which the basic skills of each of the subject areas are taught.

Program of Activities

Work will be assigned according to grade and skill level. Students will be assigned to groups according to the grade they will be entering in Fall 2013.

Instructors will evaluate the campers the first two days of camp. After an initial evaluation, campers will be taught using modified learning games, challenging activities, day-to-day learning experiences and worksheets. The children will review materials taught during the previous academic year and will also be introduced to new materials. Multiplication tables and division facts will be reviewed for grade appropriate campers.

Age appropriate art projects will be taught to the campers as well.

Morning Supervision

Payment, Balance Due and Refunds

  1. Full payment without discounts is $490 per child.
  2. A $50 non-refundable deposit is required with each application. Balance must be paid with a completed application and waiver by June 7, 2013 (Session1) and July8, 2013 (Session 2).
  3. Credit card payments will be accepted if camp registration is PAID IN FULL. There will be a $12 processing fee per child for this service. Credit card payments may be made over the phone. Your children will not be placed in a group until the completed application is received by the camp office.
  4. Refunds will be given as follows: prior to first teaching day-$425; prior to third teaching day-$350; prior to fifth teaching day-$300; after fifth teaching day-no refund.

Enrollment Procedures

Camp application forms must be completed and returned with a MINIMUM $50 NON-REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT PER CHILD. If full payment is not paid at the time of registration, the balance will be due to the camp office by June 7, 2013 (Session 1) and July 8, 2013 (Session 2). COMPLETE ONE APPLICATION FORM AND WAIVER PER CHILD attending the Academic Enrichment Camp. Feel free to duplicate the application or call the camp office and request additional brochures.

Discounts

  1. A $25 discount will be given to those children attending 49er Youth Fitness Camp.
  2. A per family $25 discount will be given to children of CSULB faculty, staff and students; to parents who support the 49er Athletic Club or for enrollment of more than one child from the same family.

Note: The maximum qualified discount is $50 for the first child and $25 for additional children.
