This AB 540 Ally Training Project is the result of contributions by many individuals. We are especially indebted to Dr. Pamela Ashe and doctoral intern, Ms. Tabethah Mack. Dr. Ashe generously loaned us the Safe Zone’s “Becoming an Ally” handbook. This important campus program conducted under the auspices of Counseling and Psychological Services, a department in the Division of Student Services, served as a model to us.
Appreciation is extended to Dr. Pamela Ashe, Irma Archuleta, James Johnson, Juan De La Cruz, Dr. Rosa Moreno-Alcaraz, Dr. Barbara Kim, and Dr. John M. Tsuchida who served on the advisory committee. Vivian Barrera, Angi Carrillo-Humphreys and Bette Iapello meticulously proofread the early versions of the document. Appreciation is extended to the students in FUEL (Future Underrepresented Educated Leaders) that urged the completion of the project and introduced it to the campus community. We acknowledge the AB 540 students who reviewed the document and made suggestions for its improvement. The development of the Ally Project continues as a collaborative effort lead by Dr. Elena Macías.
We gratefully acknowledge Dr. Douglas X. Patiño and the Marguerite Casey Foundation for their support in significantly funding the implementation of this project.
