Volunteer Parking Instructions
A volunteer is an individual whose primary relationship with the university is to perform a service in support of a university program or activity with no promise, expectation, or receipt of compensation for services rendered to the university, auxiliaries, or third-party vendors.
In order for a volunteer to receive campus parking privileges, please do the following:
- The ASM or department approver completes the HRM volunteer paperwork. The ASM/ Appropriate Administrator (level 4) must also email HR Support Services (HRSS) (HRM-HR-IS@csulb.edu) with the volunteer name and birthdate to obtain the Volunteer’s ID (Empl ID) and update their PeopleSoft status. An ID number and Volunteer status in PeopleSoft is required to obtain parking privileges. It can take up to three days before the ID is assigned at which point the volunteer should create their Beach ID account.
Note: If an individual already has a Beach ID due to a previous relationship with the university they will still need to complete the step above so that their status in PeopleSoft can be changed to Volunteer.
- Please allow an additional two days from the date of the ID being assigned by HRSS for it to become active in the parking system. Then, complete the Volunteer Parking Request Form [PDF]. The ASM or department approver and volunteer must both provide signatures.
- The Volunteer brings the fully executed form to Cashiers in Brotman Hall to register their vehicle. The volunteer will need to have a valid driver’s license or other identification card and license plate number to complete their transaction in the parking system. If the vehicle does not yet have the license plate affixed, the last seven digits of the vehicle identification number should be used.
- After the parking account is created and the volunteer sets up their Beach ID it is the volunteer’s responsibility to update any vehicle information via the CSULB mobile app or at parking.csulb.edu.
