City Limits: Shanghai – Los Angeles
November 7 - December 17, 2006City Limits, was a group exhibition of photographers and video artists examining contemporary life in Shanghai and Los Angeles—two of the most dynamic and influential urban centers of the 21st century. City Limits was organized for the University Art Museum by the Graduate Program in Museum Studies and received support from the Department of Art, College of the Arts, California State University, Long Beach.
Artists in the exhibition included Chinese artists Yang Fudong, Song Tao, Xiang Liqing, Shi Yong, and Liu Wei. The Los Angeles portion of the exhibition featured works by Uta Barth, Michael Light, Robbert Flick, and Melanie Pullen.
