Deadline for Cherish the Children Toy Drive collection is Monday, December 3, 2012.
The wrap party meets before the children’s Christmas party to wrap presents to be given out at the campus hosted party. Staff volunteers wrap between 120 - 150 gifts.
The Cherishing Children Holday Party is on Wednesday, December 5, 2012 and hosts 100-120 children from low income or foster care facilities. Volunteers from across campus assist in the party which features music, refreshments, clowns, jugglers, crafts and games. Each child receives a gift, a goodie bag and a photo with Santa.
The toy drive runs from November 1 - December 14 with collection boxes throughout the campus. Staff, students, faculty and alumni all participate in the toy collection drive. A portion of the toys collected are set aside for the children’s party and the remainder are given to the Long Beach Fire Department, Spark of Love Toy Drive.
