Can you explain the new ride program to me?
Basically, what we do is make it possible for students to ride behind a pro-level wakeboard boat with instruction for a flat rate per set. Club dues are $50 a semester, the money goes to our school club and is used to pay for gas, insurance, our boat and a ton of other fees that need to be paid to make this club work. It also includes a club T-Shirt. For those of you who want to ride behind our boat it costs $15 a set, if you have your own boat and don't want to ride with us, that's cool... You can still be in the club and come to team events. The ride program is for students who want to wakeboard behind our boat on Fridays.
Do you have to be good?
No, we'll even teach you how to ride if you don't know how.
Where do you practice?
Marine Stadium at 9AM all day on friday.
Do you have equipment I can use?
If you are a normal sized person, we probably have some extra boards, life jackets and ropes for you to use. You are on you own for wetsuits though. Most people in the club are usually nice and will let you borrow equipment if the team doesn't have any that fits you.
What kind of boat do you use?
2006 Calabria CalAir Pro-V. We have 1500 lbs. in fat sacks, plus you have the option to have another 800 lbs. of ballast. If you don't know what a ballast tank is, you probably don't want it filled.
Last semester I bought ten sets and didn't use them all are they still good?
Yes
Why did you change it from the way things were last semester?
The online thing was too confusing and Jeremy was the only one who understood it... he graduated.
How does the team work?
Team dues are $200 a semester and include a set every practice as well as entrance fees for tournaments.
How do I try out for the team?
Come out to practice, hang out... We'll see you ride, get to know you, and that's it. The people who are on the team make the decisions on new team members. It's more than just how you ride. We look for people who are dedicated to the club, are willing to help out with things, and would make a good team member. We usually don't add new members until we have a tournament, so please don't ask if you can be on the team, because it makes things awkward. We'll let you know if you're on the team. If you get added to the team mid semester, whatever ride tickets you that semester get applied to your team dues, so you don't owe the full amount.
Where do I pay for sets?
Right now, you can pay for them at practice. Make checks payable to "CSULB FOUNDATION"
Are there club dues?
$50 a semester
