Tournament
While the ultimate aim of karate is not to just win tournaments, tournaments are a valuable part of practice. It allows one to train and develop his or her jiyu kumite (free sparring). Tournament jiyu kumite often creates a degree of pre-fight anxiety (or "butterflies") along with many "what-ifs" that are seldom found in daily practice. Facing those specific challenges aid one in handling those variables in real combat. There exists many different opportunities for participating in tournaments throughout the entire year. Check the calendar page for upcoming information about the tournaments that the club participates in.
