Our Mission Statement and Goals
CSULB Beach Cats is a group of students, staff, and faculty, dedicated to the humane care and management of the CSULB campus cat population. Through the process of trap -spay/neuter return, our goal is to significantly reduce or eliminate their numbers on campus. We seek to foster a spirit of cooperation and compassion for the campus cats through humane education, community involvement, and social responsibility.
Our statement of Purpose will be accomplished through:
- Humane trapping of campus cats for spay/neuter, veterinary examinatio, vaccines, deworm, flea treatment, adoption or release for care and maintenance by CSULB Beach Cats members. Beach Cats will also be responsible for humanely removing sick or injured cats.
- Establishment and maintenance of feeding stations where members of CSULB Beach Cats can provide regular and daily observation of campus cats.
- Participation in fund raising events, and establishment of an endowment to allow continuance of the program through perpetuity.
- Educating the campus community about pet overpopulation and the responsibilities of pet ownership.
