cosponsoring organization. The rally and march will be held on Sept. 28 meeting at noon on Hollywood at Vine then a rally at 2pm at Hollywood at Highland. The LB Area Peace
Network has members meeting at the Wardlow Station at 11am that day to take the Blue line Metro (to the Red line) together, so if you are interested, meet them there.

3. "Shore Fest" is an event that is sponsored by the city of Long Beach and the Shore Fest organization that originally intended to have a fake invasion of the beach and a fake
invasion of the Queen Mary to demonstrate/celebrate the military. After a recent city council meeting, those two parts of the event/fest have rightly been cancelled. For more info on
this go to www.shorefest.com
4. The Next LB Area Peace Network Meeting will be on Sept. 29 at the Unitarian Church on Atherton in Long Beach. www.lbapn.net ...Also some brief discussion about working with
the Peter Carr Peace Center on campus or having a joint meeting with them. TBA
5. Riot Girl (Grrrl!) LA, a radical feminist group, is having a meeting this saturday at 3pm at Luna Sol Cafe in LA (on 6th near Macarthur Park).
6. We had a lively discussion about the recall while the BBC filmed it for an upcoming documentary about student/youth reactions to the recall (as far as I know?). We also discussed
bill SB 60 which gives undocumented immigrants the right to get a drivers license, and proposition 54. There will be an upcoming rally regarding prop 54 TBA.
7. We filled out an ORC card (school paperwork for the club) and it is being turned in by Zahra.
8. I didn't get a chance at the meeting to say so, but the Californians for Marriage Equality are having a rally on October 11 at 6pm in Belmont Shore on 2nd St in front of
Washington Mutual Bank and to raise awareness about marriage equality/equal rights and legislation regarding it.
! Next week, we will be discussing Committees and membership and we will all have a chance to sign up for various committees and begin discussing projects and events for the
semester, so read the structure (I have attatched it again as a word document) and think about what you want to do in the club and where you'd like to put the most energy.
Peace,
Sheila
