CAMPUS PROGRESSIVES
MEETING NOTES 10/22
We met inside the Multicultural Center.
Roll call: Uduak, Jaime, Prof. Ruyle, Elisa, Damian, Aida, Connie
Announcements:
-Peter Carr Peace Center Meeting Tuesdays at 4pm in the multiculturla
center. someone correct me if im wrong with the time and place. i know the
day is correct
-We will be tabling for Multicultural Week/Week of International
Education(10/27-31), please come out and support
-We plan to start a Video Series on 11/5 on different issues like the
Middle East, racism, revolution. They will be shown in the multicultural
Center prior to the campus progressives meeting on wednesdays at 4pm come
one come all. if you have any videos that you want to show, contact the
event committee. or just anyone i guess who comes to the meetings. more
details to follow.
-FYI, when Arnold came to advertise himself on campus, he brought a couple
of snipers for protection. they were stationed on the mcintosh building for
those of you who didnt notice. something seems wrong about this.
-KPRK is filling spots for its listener/advisory board and Uduak and Sherna
are running. please become a donating member and vote for them. they need
our support.
-SFSU Internation Action Coalition invited us to a convention in Chicago
with other progressive groups from around the country on Nov 7th. more
details to follow.
-Please support the supermarket strikes and dont cross the lines or scab.
the supermarkets arent budging an inch. also, there are reports of CSULB
students being assholes to picketers. please tell your friends to not be
stupid even if they dont support the strike.
-SCary story reading on KPFK this or next weekend.
-dead prez album out on Kazaa for all you conscious hip-hop heads
-CHESS(California Higher Education Student Summit) to be held in Sacramento
Feb 19-24th. Please apply to go. 20 student spots open. come to learn how
to organize and gain leadership skills and to network with other CSU's.
