Connie's little rant in an earnest attempt to represent the current general attitude of the Campus Progressives:

this was a kinda depressing meeting, brimful of disaffected youth...where is everyone? please don't sign up for committees if you can't commit... or at least try to get in touch with people who are present at the meetings...we're off to a late start this semester, but it's no one's fault...we're just late, that's all...

IT USED TO BE that the group would formulate ideas for events and then randomly, lop-sidedly, individual members would pitch in for the planning, promotion, etc. of the event.

BUT NOW a bunch of us are tired and jaded and soaking in the reality of 5.7 billion other commitments and personal projects (midterms nonwithstanding).

SO our committees will function as arms and legs that will efficiently carry out tasks. But as a body of students, we need messages from the brain aka Event-Planning Committee to actually get something done...

It seems as if we want to see things get DONE but no one really wants to DO anything. which is fine with me, i think. here's my mental health quote of the day: think big, but let the little things make you happy.

peace,
connie
