Attendents: Nick, Debi, Jeb, Elisa, Vince, Connie, Michele, Chris S., Mike K., Chris E., John and Ena
Agenda Items:
1. Announcements:
** The initiative "right to know" was not passed, which would have increased student fees to aid the daily 49er's fiscal woes...
** Conscientious Objector Aidan Delgado event was quite a success. At one point the multicultural center was almost filled to capacity, which is remarkable considering how rushed it was put together. So thanks Connie for all your hard work!
** Our film series is over and from it made approx $240, so we are seriously considering doing more of those in the future
** Morgan Wheeler (upcoming election candidate running for president) was prohibited from campaigning due to a confrontation he had with Uduak...
** Cal State Fullerton is holding a Student Social Justice Summit on Friday (4/8) from 9-5pm in the Titan Student Union...15 different workshops will be held so please email connie if interested because she is definitely going and has more info....
2. Hip Hop Event update-Nick has proposed Tues/Wed April 12/13 or Thurs April 28...so keep those dates in mind.
3. Maria Guardado(Salvadorean women who was tortured by CIA death squad members) film update- Elisa is trying to get Maria and the director of the film to come on Tuesday April 19 in the late afternoon (5pm) rather than in the morning as proposed earlier.
4. Yehuda's film update-we decided that we would see his film on the wed after spring break (3/30) following the meeting.
5. Jeb(campaign manager) related to us that for Uduak's campaign he wanted to use $100 from our funds and so we voted on it and the motion passed unanimously...also he really needs volunteers to help table during the two weeks before the elections and the week of the election...so please contact him if you can help out!
6. Green peace campaign- they approached the CSU's and UC's to be more environmentally friendly and it was suggested that we should write letters to the editor voicing our support for this campaign so please do so...
7. Debi brought in our organically grown beige cotton t-shirts and they should be ready for purchasing ($14) the week after spring break....
Meeting adjourned....have a productive spring break!!
