Campus Progressive Meeting - Notes 3 March 2004, Elisa

Attendance: Adam, Amanda, Elisa, Jaime, Zahra; a small but spirited bunch.

March 4th: Taco Bell March & Boycott
PH1-219 at 6:00pm. Drop in for informational brochures, flyers, buttons, and short documentary about CIW and Taco Bell treatment of workers. Renewed efforts against Taco Bell at CSULB are in the works.

March 10th: Student Organization Coalition
Next Wednesday at 5:00pm in the Multicultural Center. Come represent. The Progressives meeting will be delayed until after the Coalition Meeting. Groups will announce events and discuss possibilities for future cooperative activities. A reporter from the Long Beach Union is confirmed to be there for press coverage.

March 15th: Social Work/Sociology Expo Thingie
Tabling opportunity on Monday from 3-8pm in the USU Ballroom. Our beloved Connie has made the arrangements. We have many volunteers confirmed to be at the Progressives' table. I'll be there from 4pm on, so that's reason enough to come (ha!). We'll provide brochures and flyers for our upcoming events. Easy-going and no pressure. Come hang out and relax with us. It'll be fun.

March 18th: Iraq: One Year Later
Be there at 11:30am. I asked SLD and Event Planning and we don't have to get sound equipment through them. I've arranged to obtain equipment for free, so the only cost we'll need to worry about now is for chair set-up. Zahra will create a flyer for distribution. We're still waiting for security approval by Capt. Skipworth for our speakers. Aaargh...

March 20th: Film Screening: Uncovered: The Whole Truth About the Iraq War
We can get the sound and video equipment for free for this too. Everything else is already cleared through SLD. I'm working on the flyers. That's it. The end.
