Campus Progressive Meeting - Notes 18 February 2004, Jaime
Attendance: Your's truly the Radical Jaime, Duy the MAN, Revolutionary Neil, La Raza's very own Sonia and Chava (aka Salvador), Adam the Newboodie, Master Yehuda, the Lovely Amanda, Aida the Great, the Conservative Progressive Zahra, Brother-man Damian, and last but certainly never the least the Undisputed All-Time Progressive Elisa.
One of the best meetings this year (In My Opinion) included the following
Film screening set for March 29 in that theater place inside the USU. The room is reserved from 5-10 in the pm ( we have extra time to set up and clean up) the film will start around six pm. We also have a table reserved just in case we want to distribute progressive stuff out side the theater place (to be discussed in later meetings). Elisa will talk to Sherna Gluck and request assistance with the A/V equipment. Thanks Neil for your work
Meetings will now be held in the USU 225 same progressive time. thanks again to Neil' always fighting for victory.
His struggle will continue at the ASI Board of Control when he pays them a visit to request funds for our progressive actions. Thanks Bro. Good Luck. It think he's going next week.
The campus, activist, network, collective, coalition letter was approved at the meeting and Elisa already distributed some. The first meeting will be held on March 10 5-6 pm in the Multicultural Center. Zahra will reserve the room for the unprecedented event (thanks to the fine work of this lovely group).
Aida announced the visit by Norman Ficklestin to UCLA and the possibility of bringing him here to this campus of ours. He will hopefully visit on either April 15 or 19.
March 18 teach out is coming along great. The location will be the speakers platform. Three speakers are confirmed and I possibly have one or two more (to be discussed at next meeting. (Let's put on the memorial thingamajig, come on y'all...we caan do it).
And finally Elisa comes through once again. She will make an e-mail list just for die-hard members only, allowing us to communicate more vital info between ourselves.
UFCW picket lines still need our support come out to 7th and Redondo on Sunday from 10, 11, 12, or 1 to when ever. La Raza will be there. Bring a friend a dog or what ever suits your needs.
