MINUTES::: Campus Progressive Meeting - Notes 9/10/03, Jeb -ACLU take action. -WTO- meeting at Cancun- border rally against WTO (held this last weekend)- with IWW, Greens, Answer etc- saturday @ 11am- san ysidro-- for future border rallys look at san diego indy media website. -Recal Discussion- under question is if ASI gave support to schwarzenneger rally? Did Piotti overstep his political aparatus and misuse his office? Did republicans misuse campus property by not allowing students to sit in a majority of the seats at schwarzenegger rally? are events at campus held for students of the campus or off campus political groups? ----- Piotti showed up at the meeting and defended his actions at the rally (throwing t-shirts, giving vocal support to schwarzenegger). The Progressives has not voted to support a recall and at this point the recall is only being researched by a few members of the HSA and the progressives. If Piotti wants to further discuss the recall investigation - he is asked to contact either Jeb (jebbathehut@hotmail.com) or Elisa from the HSA. Please do not take up the Campus Progressive's limited meeting time with this issue. -Interview with BBC- Uduak is organizing this. If you would like to be interviewed by the BCC about the schwarzenegger rally please contact Uduak. The BCC is doing a special segment on the California Recall Election. -Organizing- committees, hold people acountable, use the organizational papers we wrote out last semester. Sheila is the point person on this. -Read mission statement before every meeting. People should know that the campus progressives is pro-feminist, for protecting the environment, for sexual equality, pro-working class,union,, liberation struggles, human rights, etc.. could someone please paste the mission statement into an email and send out to the list so people can read this? -Lots more to be discussed next week. so-so-solidarity forever.-jeb :::
