Campus Progressives E-mail Groups

"What's an e-group?" An e-group is a group of people on a e-mail mailing list which allows a person to send messages to everyone on the list using one address. So it's an easy way to spread information quickly among a specific group of people.

We have two e-groups associated with our club. The main one is for letting people know what happens at club meetings, what events are coming up, and other matters directly related to club activities. The other e-group is for informing everyone of events indirectly related to the club and discussion about topics that come up.

First, before you become a part either or both of the e-groups: a realistic description... Sometimes too many letters are sent back and forth, so be prepared to use the delete button. But also be prepared for a lot of good information and opportunities to get out and learn and change the world.

Here are the instructions for using our egroups:

1) Campus Progressives (The main e-group.)

This group is for the purpose of OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENTS and information pertaining DIRECTLY to club activities.

For both lists your messages will only be posted if you send them specifically to the posting address (above). If you reply you will reply to the author of the message you are responding to. This helps cut down on unintentional messages being posted to the whole group.

Most members have been set up on the discussion list to receive individual messages, but if this ever becomes too much to deal with just ask David Murray (Moderator) to switch your membership to "Daily Digest" which will send you the day's messages together in one large e-mail. The only drawback to this method is that you have to write down the sender's e-mail address to respond to someone privately.
