THE MINUTES
FOR
May 6, 2003

I. Meeting started at 6:10pm

II. Jackie Ruiz
       a. Requested Donation for non-profit organization that is getting their
funding cut.
       b. Must check our account balance and get back to her how much we can
donate.

III. C.O.L.A. Report
       a. Having elections for next year; Only one person running for President so
far.
       b. If anyone is interested in running, please contact Anna Nazarian-Peters
at anzarian@csulb.edu.  It would be good if we had a presence on the e-board.

IV. L.S.U. Report
       a. The Chicano/Latino Graduation Committee needs volunteers to be ushers
for the graduation.  Please help out if you can.
       b. This Saturday is the 3rd Annual Latino Artistic Review at 7:30 in the
Small Auditorium.  There will be performances.
       c. This Friday, SHPE is having their Kool-Aid Picnic at Whaley Park at
12pm.

V. Get On The Bus
       a. Next Wednesday, the 14th, there will be a mass rally in front of the
Chancellor's Office at the Board of Trustees meeting. 
       b. It has been proposed that there will be a 25% fee increase starting next
semester.  $285!!  They will be voting at the meeting on Wednesday.
       c. There will be buses leaving in front of Brotman Hall at 9am and they
will be going back and forth.  Please go protest and bring friends.  We need to
show them that we will not stand for another increase of our tuition.

VI. Announcements
       a. Dia De Los Niņos- This Friday, please be there to help as much as you
can. Set up begins at 7:30am and will end at approximately 2pm
       b. Tierra De Oro-This Wednesday at Soroptomist House
       c. We need to find out who is going to be the Grand Marshall for the
graduation. Make sure the professors that influence us, and motivated us are
acknowledged and recognized.
      d. This Friday-Escandalo at Florentine Gardens. Please come out and support
for the Chicano/Latino Graduation Celebration

VII. Elections
       a. Congratulations to our Executive Board for 2003-2004
       b. President - Sandra Beltran; Vice President - Samuel Monroy; Treasurer - 
Adela Diaz; Secretary - Linda Magallanes; LSU Rep - Hector Flores; COLA Rep 
- Cynthia Romo
