Campus Progressives Meeting
5/8/02
- OPPOSITION TO PRO-ISREALI DEMONSTRATION
This demonstration will take place on Monday May 13th from 11-1pm. The Campus Progressives have decided to work with the Muslim SA. to organize opposition. The plan is to go to the demonstration and tape pro-Isreali corporate media headline over our mouths and hand out fact sheets about Palestine - also to have articles from LA Times, NY Times ect. highlighted, demonstrating the bias and lies reported on this conflict. WE NEED PEOPLE TO SHOW UP ON MONDAY FOR THIS EVENT.
- TABLE THURSDAY MAY 16TH
We will have one last info table for the year next Thursday. Everyone who was asked to do a write-up on a certain region please bring your report to our last meeting next Wednesday. We will be tabling from 10-4pm.
- VENEZUELA MARCH
The march will be on May 18th at the federal building in LA at noon. Jeb needs help getting the word out (jebbathehut@hotmail.com). Connie volunteered to email progressive groups and April volunteered to deliver flyers.
- EL SALVADOR REPORT
Bob Brophy, CSULB professor, is going to El Salvador in a week. It was suggested that we have a report back from him on the situation in El Salvador next semester.
- NOT-IN-OUR-NAME CONCERT
An awesome concert against the war is happening this Sunday, 6pm at the Palace. Jim in carpooling - email Slimmy18@aol.com

There will be an organizing meeting for next fall sometime TBA in June.

- May 17-19 there will be a union organizing conference put on by the AFL-CIO. Anyone who is interested must fill out an application. Visit www.organize.aflcio.org.
- March and Rally in support of the Venezuela People, Hugo Chavez, and the Bolivarian Republic - Los Angeles, May 18th, 2002 - 12 noon @ the federal Building 11000 Wilshire Blvd.
- Long Beach Food Not Bombs meets Sundays at Noon at the Long Beach Community Infoshop and serves food at about 3 PM.
