Campus Progressives Meeting
12/5/01
- The newsletter has been put off until next semester unless people want to work on it over break. E-mail the group if you do.
- Worker Rights Consortium
Jim will contact President Maxson and bookstore to see about the progress of WRC on campus. Others should inquire as well. Write President Maxson.
- Government spying petition
Petition was presented to the Senate and was well recieved. There are 9 campus organizations supporting this petition, many people came to show support. There was no real opposition in the senate but due to "time restrictions this semester" the senate cannot take this issue up until next semester. Two senators, Critobal and Alex, will push for the petition next semester.
- Meeting time next semester will be the same - Wed. at Noon.
- Reflections and Suggestions
Most everyone said they were pretty happy with the events that took place this semester. Next semester we would like to see more outreach, let more people know about this club. Also more progressive issue brought in, such as Tibet. The Globalization Conference is also a big priority for next semester. A few meetings will be held for that in Jan.
