Notes:
For most of the meeting, we sat around like slugs, talking about the UFCW strikes at our supermarkets. We are all in total solidarity and
encourage everyone to NOT CROSS THE PICKET LINES. We want to support them, but for now, all we can do is to not cross those
picket lines ourselves...We talked about how many of the "scabs" are college-age kids like us...about how the strike raises a plethora of issues,
including the need for a universal healthcare system...about how this is a total threat to unions everywhere and how they should all strike in
solidarity...we dreamt about how great it would be if all of AMERICA went on a GENERAL STRIKE...and we dreamt and we dreamt
and we dreamt.....and we laughed a little bit at the sadness and the absurdity of it all and we laughed about how Arnold is now our governor, and
how the NY Times refers to George W. Bush only as "Mr.Bush" and no longer "Pres.Bush" and we laughed for the heck of it and went home.
Report Back: We are still waiting for the event-planning committee to review videos and make final decisions on if we want to put on a
Video-Screening event.
We also need to find a place where we can make FREE COPIES for flyering...we have the flyers; but not the cash flow....so if ANYONE
can help us, please leave a message on the office phone-line 562-985-4720 (which i still check weekly).
the truth does not blush
