Campus Progressive Meeting - Notes 9 February 2005, Jeb

-8 peep's in attendance
A) We assigned positions to better facilitate organizing and internal workings of the club. (something we must do every semester!!)
These people will be held accountable at tomorow nights meeting and should have some ideas/plans/work done,etc. Hopefully those of you with more then one in these groups have spoken to eachother over the course of the last week and have worked on ideas. I know debbie has already put forward some good tshirt designs and we will take a look at these during the meeting.
Debbie has a good qoute for the tshirts;;;

-
1) Design Flier for Progressives---> Chris Elliot
2) Fundraising----> Jaime/Nick/Lamya
3) Promotion of the club 'propaganda"----> Chris/Michelle/Mike
4) Communication ---> This people were not in attendance but they already take care of this role (connie/elisa) They will ahve to work on improving our communication with other campus clubs, posting events on internet calendars, and helping to build the rec center coalition.
5) Event Booker---> Allison (she now has her credentials to get "shit done on campus")
6) Art Committee (tshirts,etc)--> Debbie/Mike/Jaime

-Jose Buktaw /DJ is coordinating with Allison to put on a Progressive Hip Hop Day sometime in April in which we will set up tables , have music,speakers and all sorts of wonderful things. This will be a big event we will be planning for.

-CSULB Student Coalition to Stop the Rec Center was officially created and supported by all in attendance. We are now making outreach efforts and gathering support form other student groups for this coalition. (see email being sent after this). A very cool 2 page flier was designed over the weekend.

-Haiti Speaking Tour-- GO tomorow night at the Karl Anatol Center at 6:30pm to see Kevin Pina of the haiti information projecct speak and show his documentary films!!!!

-Lots more was discussed but it was hard for me to take notes when i was speaking or getting kicked by allison.

PS. You better make it to tomorow's meeting (5pm-USU 303) and the haiti speaking event (6:30pm-Karl Anatol) because If you don't Toussaint Louverture will be spinning in his grave!!!
