What is Human Factors?
Human Factors is an approach to human performance that applies the knowledge of human behavior to the design, evaluation, operation, and maintenance of products, systems and environment. Human Factors professionals come from many majors: Engineering, Computer Science, Psychology, Business, Marketing, Anthropology, Gerontology, Design, Medical Systems, etc.
Learn to apply human factor principles to designing jobs, consumer products, workplaces, and equipment in order to reflect the individual's information needs, sensory and mental capabilities and physical characteristics.
Our Purpose
(1) Promoting the awareness of how human factors/ergonomics issues are related to many disciplines and careers.
(2) Exposing students to an interdisciplinary approach to the design, evaluation, operation, and maintenance of products and systems.
(3) Providing a forum for the presentation, discussion, and investigation, of human factors and ergonomics issues.
(4) Providing students with the opportunity to enhance professional development, community service, and networking with other students, faculty, and professionals interested in human factors and ergonomics issues.
