 What is Rush? |

| Membership recruitment, or Rush, is a four or five day event where prospective members visit sorority chapters and get to know their members. Through informal conversation and presentations, you will learn about the different activities and programs of each chapter. During Rush, you will be looking for a group of women with whom you best identify. Each sorority has something to offer you, just as you have something equally unique to offer them. |

| Social Activities |

| Sigma Kappa has a broad range of social events to participate in, such as fraternity exchanges, theme dances, formals, parent and alumni events, chapter retreats, sisterhood activities as well as sporting events. |

| Leadership |
||||||||
| Sororities offer endless opportunities for developing your leadership skills and encourages you to be a leader in activities outside the Greek system. Whether you are on a committee, running for a position on executive council, or participating in campus or community events, you can always be involved and learn effective leadership skills. |

| Philanthropy & Community Service |
||||||||
| Service is a fundamental part of the Greek community. Sigma Kappa participates in chapter-sponsored and community-wide service projects throughout the year. Our chapter contributes time and energy to create ways in which we can contribute money or services to our national philanthropy. These philanthropies include Gerontology, Alzheimer's Disease, the Inherit The Earth program, and the Maine Seacoast Missionary Society. |

| Scholarship |
||||||||
| Sigma Kappa places great emphasis on high scholarship and promotes academic excellence. We also have a Vice President of Scholarship to help motivate sisters and maintain high academic goals. All members are encouraged to attend study hours or study groups if they need help. |

| Expenses |
||||||||
| Sororities are self-governed and self-financed through dues paid by each member. In Sigma Kappa, dues provide for initiations, national membership, chapter house maintenance, philanthropic events, Greek community contributions, activities and programs (including sisterhood retreats, date parties, and formal). Sigma Kappa also provides payment plans for your financial needs. |
