In 1997, five brave men set out to establish a chapter of Lambda Theta Phi Latin Fraternity Incorporated at California     State University

Long  Beach. These five men successfully completed the intense pledging process and established:
Alpha Iota Chapter - The Pyramid of Aztlan.
  These five Founding Brothers helped the chapter grow and prosper in times of great adversity and resistance to a Latin fraternity. By relying  on the ideals and merits of the fraternity, they were successful in their fight against injustice, prejudice, and the unfair assumptions of others. Alpha Iota Chapter blossomed and continued to produce quality brothers  that proudly carried on the traditions of Lambda Theta Phi. Since its birth, Alpha Iota Chapter has remained true to the  ideals that made the fraternity the largest, oldest, and proudest Latin fraternity in the nation.

  The brothers at Alpha Iota Chapter believe in several deeply rooted Lambda ideals. These ideals help regulate their lives, and help to remind them of their responsibilities to all man. Alpha Iota Chapter contains a brotherhood of varying ethnicities and varying ideas. Yet, despite the differences in the brotherhood, Alpha Iota Chapter has earned Long Beach State the nickname of "The Strong Beach" for its deep dedication to brotherhood, unity, and respect.
  Alpha Iota Chapter has made tremendous contributions to Long Beach State and the surrounding community. Staying true to their promise of social service, Lambda Theta Phi has earned the respect of many local lawmakers, politicians, faculty members, students, and non-believers. Alpha Iota Chapter has surely left its mark on the West Coast, and has been instrumental in keeping Lambda Theta Phi a growing and prosperous fraternity, while still preserving the ideals of the Conquistador.
  The pledging process of Lambda Theta Phi is an incredibly intense and unique experience. The Pyramid of Aztlan. is a hard place to earn letters, but pledging is small price to pay for an eternity of fraternal dedication. The brothers of Alpha Iota produce only the highest caliber of brothers, and will never lower their standards for any person. For this reason, the brothers of Alpha Iota Chapter believe that if a man is willing to accept the challenge of pledging, he will give his all to the earning of his letters and to the pledging process. With this in mind, the brothers allow only men of high moral standards, strong convictions, and purity of soul, to pledge. Though this may be intimidating to some, true brotherhood never comes easy. The dedication that the brothers at Alpha Iota Chapter have for each other and for their pledges, is demonstrated in  the love, trust, and blind faith that they share. After all, at Alpha Iota Chapter we believe that:
