Throughout the month of April, the ladies of Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority, Inc. and Lambda Theta Nu Sorority, Inc. united their efforts in the 1st annual "Women-4-Women: Stopping the Violence Against Women" community service. The focus in 2004 was geared towards ending the violence against women in Cuidad Juarez and Chihuahua, Mexico. The goal was to attain over 10,000 signatures on petitions that were circulated via university campuses nationwide. These petitions will be addressed to the heads of state in Mexico in order to request more governmental intervention and protection for victimized women in Mexico.

Sisters at Beta Delta hosted an information night
about the violence occurring in Juarez.  Dr. Grace Delgado
was the keynote speaker and former mayor of El Paso, Bill Tilney,
also attended the event.  El Paso is a neighboring city of Juarez
and has been affected by the situation in Juarez.
