JAPAN CLUB @ CALIFORNIA STATE UNIVERSITY, LONG BEACH
Japan Club was established in Spring 2000 The club’s primary purpose is to network with peers, alumni, and professionals. Under this goal, there are three pillars of activities. These pillars are "professional", "cross-cultural", and "social" activities. First, professional activities enable students to transition smoothly into the workforce. We sponsor Japanese business seminars, guest speakers from various fields, job-hunting workshops, resume workshops, and interview workshops to help students learn what true professionalism means across cultural boundaries. Secondly,
cross-cultural activities are a great opportunity for members to interact
with a number of people from various countries. We hold events such
as Japanese tutoring sessions, opportunities to volunteer at the Japanese
garden on campus, and networking events with other ampuses/organizations.
Third,
social activities are used to promote basic communication skills and
allow our members to have FUN! Through social events, our members
have fun while creating lifelong relationships. Such events include
the beginning of semester party, alumni gatherings and the end of
semester banquet.
