We are devoted to the empowerment of women through education and the development of the feminist identity. We are committed to the struggle to end sexism, racism, homophobia, classism, ageism, ableism and heterosexism.
As an organization dedicated to ending all oppressions, the Women's Studies Student Association (WSSA) must recognize and denounce psychology Professor Dr. Kevin MacDonald's research and findings.
Since we are in an academic setting and Kevin MacDonald is a tenured professor, his words carry great weight. Though we recognize his academic freedom to conduct his research, we find it unacceptable that his "findings" negatively implicate the Jewish community and are used as sources for white supremacist groups.
His position as a tenured professor at CSULB is an embarrassment to the campus as a whole. The WSSA suggests that all students, student groups, organizations, academic departments, faculty, staff, and that the president of the school publicly denounce Dr. MacDonald in order to make clear that we do not agree with his anti-Semitism and we do not support bringing hatred and racism on this campus.
